CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT CENTRE
FACULTY OF CROATIAN STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB
The Career Development and Support Centre (hereinafter: the Centre) was established on 26 January 2026 by decision of the Faculty Council with the aim of connecting students, employers, and alumni through activities related to career guidance, professional development, employability enhancement, and the promotion of personal growth within academic and professional environments.
The decision was adopted in accordance with the opinion of the Accreditation Council (introducing an inclusive and systematic approach to employers, professional associations, and alumni in order to support the development of study programmes, taking into account labour market trends and broader social changes), as well as the recommendations of the expert accreditation panel (providing additional guidelines tailored to diverse student groups, particularly addressing specific career opportunities in programmes associated with higher unemployment rates), and the developmental and implementation components of the programme agreement for the University of Zagreb – Faculty of Croatian Studies.
The Centre’s services and activities include career and psychological counselling for students, with a focus on planning professional development and preventing challenges that may jeopardise academic progress or mental well-being. In addition to counselling, the Centre will organise free workshops, training sessions, and other activities aimed at promoting lifelong learning, developing personal and professional skills, and increasing students’ competitiveness in the labour market, thereby also strengthening the visibility of the Faculty.
The Head of the Centre, appointed for a two-year term, is Katarina Jelić, mag. psych.
