Department of Croatian Latinity

Bachelor Programme of Latin and Master Programme of Croatian Latinity were founded in 2006 as a response to the need for the experts who would explore the rich, but underresearched Croatian Latinist heritage. Three-year bachelor programme covers the field of the Classical Latin, employing grammar and literature classes in building a basis for further studies. Master programme encompasses international and Croatian medieval and modern Latinity. Great attention is paid to achieving thorough familiarity with the language and detailed interpretation of a literary text. Elective courses, mostly tightly tied to the field of study, make it possible for the students to direct their interests towards the disciplines they found most interesting. Besides research and professional work, the Master programme joined with the Educational Module train the students for a teaching work in schools.
