Assistant Professor Alena Gizdic named Topic Editor in the international scientific journal Frontiers in Psychiatry.

Alena Gizdic, PhD, Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, has been named a Topic Editor of the Research Topic The Role of Self-Perception in Mental Health: Current Insights on Self-Esteem and Self-Schemas, published in the internationally recognized scientific journal Frontiers in Psychiatry.

Frontiers in Psychiatry is one of the leading international scientific journals in the fields of psychiatry and mental health. It is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) in Scopus-based and SCImago journal rankings and is indexed in major international scientific databases, including Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, and PsycINFO.

This Research Topic focuses on contemporary research examining the role of self-perception, self-esteem, and self- and other-schemas in the development, maintenance, and outcome of psychopathology, with particular emphasis on understanding these processes across both clinical and non-clinical populations

Participation in the international editorial team will contribute to strengthening academic collaboration and enhancing the visibility of the Faculty of Croatian Studies, as well as the broader Croatian scientific community, while fostering more active engagement in the international exchange of knowledge and the advancement of contemporary research agendas. Such engagement also contributes to promoting quality and maintaining high standards in scientific publishing.
