All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about archives and archival material in general in order to acquire the knowledge necessary for the research work of historians when searching for new historical sources. The student will thus become familiar with the way archives function, how they are organized, learn how historical sources are created and what their path is from their origin to the status of a historical archive.
The aim of the course is also to offer the student theoretical and practical knowledge on how to approach a source found in an archive, how to analyze it (internal and external characteristics of the document, stamps and seals, script, transcription, etc.) and how to present it in written scientific form.
