The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU), a partner institution of the Faculty of Croatian Studies at the University of Zagreb, has once again been named the most popular university in Germany according to the StudyCheck ranking. This marks the fourth time KU has received this distinction, having previously earned the title in 2021, 2022, and 2024.

In recent years, cooperation between the Faculty of Croatian Studies and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt has developed particularly strongly in the field of sociology. Since 2021, the two institutions have jointly offered the course Risk Society, which brings together students and academic staff from both universities and provides a platform for discussing contemporary social risks, global challenges, and the societal transformations of late modernity.

Over time, the partnership has expanded further. Since this year, Associate Professor Ivan Perkov from the Department of Sociology has been teaching the course Culture Wars: Challenges for Contemporary Sociology at KU, while Professor Joost van Loon has visited the Faculty of Croatian Studies and participated in the teaching activities of the Department of Sociology. In the current academic year alone, five student mobilities and two staff mobilities have been completed, further confirming the intensity and quality of this partnership.

This recognition is particularly significant because it is based on evaluations provided by students and alumni. According to KU’s announcement, 98 percent of respondents in the latest ranking would recommend studying at the university, while its study programs received an average rating of 4.2 out of 5.

The Faculty of Croatian Studies and its Department of Sociology congratulate the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt on this achievement and look forward to continuing and further strengthening their successful international cooperation.
